Wellcome to Salento Sommerso

Il miglior modo per apprezzare la Biodiversità Marina della penisola salentina, importante area geografica del Sud Est Italia, spartiacque naturale tra il Mar Ionio e l'Adriatico Meridionale. Il nostro gruppo è costituito da amici subacquei con la passione della fotografia che da oltre un decennio acquisiscono immagini contribuendo a documentare la imponente biodiversità che popola il mare circostante la nostra penisola. Fin'ora abbiamo prodotto immagini di oltre 700 differenti specie fotografate nel loro ambiente naturale.

The best way to appreciate the Marine Biodiversity of the Salento peninsula, an important geographic area in South-East Italy, a natural watershed between the Ionian Sea and the Southern Adriatic Sea. Our group is made up of underwater friends with a passion for photography who have been acquiring images for over a decade, helping to document the impressive biodiversity that populates the sea surrounding our peninsula. So far we have produced images of over 700 different species taken in their natural environment.

Dopo tanto tempo quest'anno siamo riusciti a ritrovare numerosissimi esemplari di questo stupendo Sacoglosso, con le loro caratteristiche ovature bianche. After a long time this year we managed to find many specimens of this stupendous Sacoglosso, with their characteristic white eggs. Aplysiopsis elegans Deshayes, 1853
Recentemente è stata descritta una nuova specie di Eterobranco marino su esemplari salentini provenienti da nostre ricerche. Si tratta di una nuova specie appartenente al genere Runcina. Questa specie è presente in molte località salentine anche se data la dimensione di pochi millimetri è davvero poco visibile. A new species of marine Heterobranch has recently been described on Salento specimens from our research. It is a new species belonging to the genus Runcina. This species is present in many places in Salento even if given the size of a few millimeters it is very little visible Runcina lupiaensis Araujo A. K., Pola M., Malaquias M. A. E., Vitale F. and Cervera J. L. 2023
I Gobidi Una famiglia di pesci che troviamo sul fondo in tutto l'areale salentino, anche a bassissima profondità. L'ambiente carsico del Salento, con le sue numerose cavità naturali spesso diventa il luogo preferenziale ad ospitare numerose specie di questo Gruppo. A family of fish that we find on the bottom throughout the Salento area, even at very low depths. The karst environment of Salento, with its numerous natural cavities, often becomes the preferential place to host numerous species of this Group
Okenia picoensis Paz-Sedano, Ortigosa & Pola, 2017 Questa specie continua ad essere fotografata in diversi posti del Salento anche in questi primi mesi dell'anno. L'ultima osservazione a Porto Badisco (Lecce, Italy) come si vede nella foto del nostro amico Romualdo Rizzo. This species continues to be photographed in various places in Salento even in these first months of the year. Melanochlamys wildpretii (Ortea, Bacallado & Moro, 2003) dopo 8 anni dal nostro primo avvistamento avvenuto a Porto Cesareo, recentemente il nostro amico Romualdo Rizzo ha fotografato un nuovo bellissimo esemplare a Porto Badisco (Lecce, Italy), allargando anche l'areale in cui potenzialmente questa specie è presente nel Salento.... 8 years after our first sighting in Porto Cesareo, our friend Romualdo Rizzo recently photographed a new beautiful specimen in Porto Badisco (Lecce, Italy), also enlarging the range in which this species is potentially present in Salento. per altre immagini....> For other photos regarding this species..>>>
