Specie, probabilmente appartenente al "Gruppo Doto coronata"

Nel Salento, ha una modesta variabilità, sia nella colorazione del dorso dove possiamo incontrare esemplari con puntinatura nerastra più o meno fitta, in esemplari più giovani quasi inesistente, così come nei cerata dove le piccole macchiettine apicali posso anche presentare un'intonazione color bruno scuro.

In Salento, it has a modest variability, both in the coloring of the back where we can meet specimens with more or less dense blackish dots, in younger specimens almost non-existent, as well as in the waxed ones where the small apical specks can also present a dark brown intonation

 

 

La popolazione individuata è, come tutte le specie appartenenti a questo genere, numericamente molto abbontante, pochissimo mobile sugli idrozoi sui sono intenti a deporre.
