Specie recentemente descritta dagli amici Giulia Furfaro e Paolo Mariottini su esemplari del Mar Tirreno. E sempre molto recentemente trovata nel Salento. Due esemplari, molto piccoli, quello qui a destra, ad Otranto (Lecce), prof. 25m di circa 1 cm. In entrambi gli esemplari è evidente la notevole fluorescenza e le placche nere del bulbo buccale situate alla base dei rinofori.

Questo esemplare, era su un Idrozoo a circa 32m di prof., la particolarità che una volta in laboratorio le foto su fondo scuro e con scarsa illuminazione per evidenziale la luminescenza blu, hanno anche mostrato la sua eccezionale trasparenza, come fosse una radiografia. Si possono vedere chiaramente moltissimi organi interni e la funzionalità degli stessi.
