Comunissimo anellidae in tutto il Salento. Predilige anfratti scarsamente illuminati. Possiede una spiccata variabilità cromatica infraspecifica. Nell'ultima foto si vede il grosso tubo calcareo costruito dall'Anellidae ed in cui vive, la parte colorata che normalmente riusciamo ad osservare è costituita dal ciuffo branchiale col quale respira e si ciba, la piccola "trombetta" conica è l'opercolo con il quale una volta retratto nel tubo si protegge da aggressori.

Very common annelidae throughout Salento. It prefers poorly lit ravines. It has a marked infraspecific chromatic variability. In the last photo we see the large calcareous tube built by the Anellidae and in which it lives, the colored part that we are normally able to observe is constituted by the branchial tuft with which it breathes and feeds, the small conical "trumpet" is the operculum with which once retracted into the tube protects itself from attackers
